In fact, as proof I built 100% of this site by myself without any experience whatsoever.<\/p><p>But there are some fundamental flaws with the affiliate marketing model mostly because so many key have a hard time finding anyone to send email to.<\/p><p>That being the case, you want to make sure that your web forms are getting people to sign up.<\/p><p>Your ethical bribe should be clearly its important too because it will become the first impression you make to your new subscribers so you want to make sure you come across the way you want to be perceived.<\/p><p>As you\u2019ve learned by now the best part of auto-responder software like AWeber is that your messages are delivered to your subscribers automatically, and in the proper order, as they join your list.<\/p><p>To make this magic happen you\u2019re going to have to write an initial welcome email and perhaps at least a few follow up messages.<\/p><p><strong>How Many Follow Up Emails Do You Need?<\/strong><\/p><p>So how many messages do you need to write before sending people into your list funnel?<\/p><p>That\u2019s a great question and one without a definitive answer.<\/p><p>It depends upon how much work you want to do up front and how timely and relevant you want your messages to be.<\/p><p>I\u2019ve opted in to lists that have anywhere from one to sixty messages already completed, queued, and ready to deliver.<\/p><p>If you\u2019re more hands-off you may want to write as many messages as you can up front to minimize your work on the back end.<\/p><p>If you\u2019re more involved in your business on a daily basis you may want to consider writing only one or two auto-responder messages and the rest live and delivered as a\u00a0<em>broadcast message<\/em>.<\/p><p>A broadcast message is one that\u2019s sent immediately and not pre-scheduled.<\/p><p>I learned list building from the legendary marketer Frank Kern.<\/p><p>Frank prefers to write and queue only one initial welcome message and the rest he delivers live as a broadcast message.<\/p><p>This does take more work but keeps your messages timely, relevant, and news-worthy.<\/p><p>Ultimately it\u2019s up to you on how to implement your list strategy.<\/p><p><strong>How Often Should You Email Your List?<\/strong><\/p><p>This too is discretionary since frequency is really your decision.<\/p><p>Plus every niche is different.<\/p><p>Many guru\u2019s believe you should email you list every single day.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div id=\"Engagement\" class=\"et_pb_module et_pb_text et_pb_text_24  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>For me personally I think this is a little overkill simply because when I send a message to my list I want it to be something very good.<\/p><p>I like to be selective in what I send instead of looking for \u2018something\u2019 to send my list every day just on principal.<\/p><p>In my experience people get tired of being bombarded by too many messages that are thin on content or 99% promotional.<\/p><p>You need to\u00a0<strong>give<\/strong>\u00a0before you can\u00a0<strong>get<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div (i.e sales).<\/p><p>Infuse your personality into each email.<\/p><p>Remember each name on your list represents a real person so be conversational to create real human connections.<\/p><p>Keep it real.<\/p><ul><li>Segment your list by topic or interest. This is a little bit more advanced but most email providers will give you the ability to do this. Nothing increases engagement more than laser targeted messages will<\/li><li>Ask for feedback and promptly return all messages personally<\/li><li>Always make sure your list knows that they can simply opt-out any time they want and make sure you let them know how to do so<\/li><\/ul><p>The bottom line in email marketing is this\u2026\u00a0<strong>be a giver first<\/strong>.<\/p><p>As an email marketer you have to be very careful not to piss off your list.<\/p><p>The most common complaint from email recipients is being sent too many emails each week. I\u2019ve been guilty of this myself.<\/p><p>Sending too many emails to your list makes your flock feel like you\u2019re spamming them and they will either ignore future emails or unsubscribe from your list.
